About Us

Art from the Heart

THRIVING THROUGH CREATIVE EXPRESSION

At Peckham, we unleash the creative potential within every individual through our Art from the Heart program. We believe empowering people with disabilities and other barriers through creative expression helps them to grow both personally and professionally. Our supportive, judgment-free art spaces allow artists to explore their creativity at their own pace, building confidence, joy, and a sense of community. We champion the inclusion of artists with disabilities in the broader art space, and engage with the community to showcase their talent and provide opportunities to exhibit and sell their work.

Art Alliance w/ Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center

Professional artists facilitate various art experiences for Peckham artists, focusing on integrating accessibility. This program also helps our team members connect with the Greater Lansing arts community.

MSU Residential College in the Arts and Humanities

MSU Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) students participate in community engagement courses, and virtual art experiences by working directly with Peckham artists. This collaboration aims to reduce social stigma faced by people with disabilities through genuine connections.

Michigan State University Federal Credit Union

Artists have the opportunity to showcase their work in the community through our longstanding partnership with MSUFCU, which hosts our annual art shows. Artists can choose pieces to display and/or sell. We also organize an artist reception where the community can meet artists and purchase artwork.

Club Create Lansing

Peckham hosts the Michigan Arts Access Lansing Chapter of Club Create. Club Create is a monthly art group that meets at Peckham. Meetings are facilitated by professional artists through Michigan Arts Access, and are open to any Peckham employee or community member.
