2020s

Contact Center Solutions expands with Blackhawk and Compass facilities in Phoenix, AZ.

2024

Peckham receives the Growth Opportunities (GO) Program grant from the United States Department of Labor. The GO Program will prepare corrections-involved youth and young adults for employment while also mitigating violence in the high-poverty, high-crime communities of Lansing and Flint, MI.

2023

Peckham receives the Diversity Star Award from Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce and LEAP.

Peckham receives the National Service Impact Award for the AmeriCorps program.

Peckham receives the Community Impact Award from the Michigan Manufacturers Association.

2022

Peckham receives the State of Michigan-Gold level Veteran Friendly Employer Award (2021-2024).

The HOPE job program in partnership with Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association is formed to train and prepare justice-involved individuals for jobs and careers in the restaurant, food service and hospitality industries.

2021

The Supported Work Experience Internship Program is launched. The program serves individuals with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries who require specific vocational training and skill building.

2010s

Manufacturing expands with 40,000 square feet in the Linden, Flint facility.

Peckham receives the State of Michigan-Gold level Veteran Friendly Employer Award.

2019

Great Place to Work Certified (2018 – 2025)

Peckham receives the State of Michigan-Silver Level Veteran Friendly Employer Award.

Peckham  receives the Employer of the Year award by the State of Arizona.

Peckham receives the Best and Brightest Award for Sustainability and Wellness (2018 – 2024).

Peckham Youth Services begins operating in Flint, MI. Peckham collaborates directly with local schools and state vocational rehabilitation offices to provide opportunities to both youth and young adults.

2018

Peckham receives the thirteenth consecutive, Three-Year Accreditation from the International Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF helps service providers demonstrate value by ensuring their services meet recognized quality and program standards through accreditation.

Peckham Youth Services launches the Youth Skilled Trades program. The program provides students with an overview and exploration of the trades through hands-on learning, talent tours, and work experience in the community.

2017

3PL & Fulfillment expands with a new facility, Watertown B, in Lansing, MI.

2014

Art from the Heart program unveils the Art at Work wall in the Greenhouse Manufacturing facility, a community partnership with the Michigan State University Residential College in the Arts and Humanities featuring artwork and stories from team members and students.

Peckham launches its Veteran Services program, a veteran-led program supporting veterans with hiring, housing, healthcare, education, and financial stability.

Contact Center Solutions expands into Grand Rapids, MI, with the opening of the Sparks facility.

Contact Center Solutions expands into Phoenix, AZ, with the Black Canyon facility.

3PL & Fulfillment Line of Business expands its footprint with the Millett warehouse facility.

Peckham’s 3PL & Fulfillment wins the Organizational Clothing and Individual Equipment warehouse contract with the Army.

Peckham moves to its newly constructed corporate headquarters, the Greenhouse, in Lansing, MI.

Peckham is awarded the Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility (2008 – 2011)

Peckham Skunks Special Olympics Basketball Team is established. The Skunks empowers and enriches the lives of team members, celebrating their strengths and unique contributions.

Peckham Community Partnership Foundation launches the Speaker Series, a free community event designed to focus on issues critical to the disability community and other individuals with barriers to success.

2007

The Footprints program opens to provide support and services for adjudicated youth.

2005

Peckham Community Partnership Foundation begins awarding mini-grants in support of team members.

Peckham is ranked as the 5th largest employer in Lansing, MI

2004

Peckham achieves ISO/TS 16949:2002 certification for its automotive-related products.

2002

The Art from the Heart program launches, enabling artists with disabilities to express themselves creatively and open new doors to self-discovery and personal growth.

Peckham’s 3PL and Fulfillment Line of Business launches with 275,000 square feet of warehouse space in Lansing, MI.

Peckham’s Riverside facility in Michigan opens with a Department of State Contract.

House of Ruth, a family-style home for people who have developmental disabilities opens in Charlotte, MI.

Immediate Employment Assistance Resource Network (I-EARN) program starts its partnership with SIREN Shelter in Charlotte, MI. The program serves individuals in Eaton County who are homeless and unemployed and who wish to develop vocational skills necessary to achieve and maintain employment.

1999

Peckham opens Michigan Works Service Center in Lansing, MI.

1998

Peckham Vocational Industries rebrands into Peckham, Inc. The new name represents a fresh chapter and a commitment to innovation and growth.

1998

Peckham launches the Contact Center Solutions line of business with the Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) and the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DTMS) contract located in Battle Creek, MI, with six agents.

1998

Peckham launches the Adult Learning program to offer a wide range of customized services to help people with disabilities build a meaningful career and greater independence.

1997

Peckham Community Partnership Foundation hosts its first annual golf outing, its largest annual fundraising event.

1995

The Peckham Community Partnership Foundation is created. Donations to this foundation assist individuals with mental or physical disabilities in participating in vocational rehabilitation efforts carried out by Peckham Vocational Industries.

1995

The University Rehabilitation Alliance, currently known as Origami, is founded. The Alliance is a partnership between Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Peckham Vocational Industries, which provides comprehensive rehabilitation for people with neurological, developmental, mental health, and orthopedic conditions.

1993

Peckham receives the GM Worldwide Supplier of the Year (1992-1997)

Adult Offenders placement program is launched. Peckham’s ReEntry Services provides strong support and a clear path for people returning from incarceration to reintegrate into society successfully.

1992

Peckham is the first supported employer to receive the JM Foundation Search for Excellence Award.

1991

1980s

Manufacturing is awarded a Federal Defense Logistics Agency sewing contract for polypropylene long underwear, providing work for approximately 25 individuals with disabilities.

Peckham expands its services with the building of the Capital Gardens Apartments and Independence Square Apartments. The apartments are designed to serve the independent living needs of individuals with disabilities.

The Manufacturing line of business expands its capabilities with a new building in Charlotte, Michigan.

1989

The Higgins Lake Camping trip tradition begins, offering people with developmental disabilities the opportunity to enjoy a traditional summer camp vacation.

Youth Career Academy, formerly Crossroads, was established to serve Michigan youth. Peckham Career Academy is a community-based, comprehensive, intensive vocational training program.

1987

Supported Employment programs to support people with developmental disabilities to find and maintain competitive jobs in the community are established. This is a collaborative effort between Peckham, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, Michigan Bureau of Services for Blind Persons, Community Mental Health Authority of Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties.

Manufacturing Plant 2 is purchased, adding 7,000 square feet of manufacturing space.

1985

The First Annual Picnic takes place, a summer family celebration for team members and their families.

1984

Peckham purchases Plant 1, adding 21,600 square feet of manufacturing space.

1983

Peckham launches its Custodial Services Line of Business

1982

Peckham begins the Holiday Party tradition, providing a great opportunity to celebrate team members and their families during the holiday season.

Peckham is granted its first Custodial Contract with the Department of Social Services.

1980

1970s

Peckham Vocational Industries (PVI) forms a corporation, transitioning from PVI to PVI, Inc. This provides PVI with additional resources to fulfill its mission through access to public and private grants.

1979

Peckham launches its Manufacturing Line of Business

1978

Peckham receives its first International Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities Accreditation.

1977

The Peckham Rehabilitation Center is established through a State of Michigan grant with Pine Rest Christian Rehabilitation Services, Inc.
