Peckham’s pre-employment services are designed to help people who are preparing to enter the workforce and may have limited work experience or need additional support. We provide the tools and support to succeed in job searches and career development. We teach practical skills and explore different career pathways through assessments, hands-on experience and training.

Certifications & Skilled Trades

Peckham focuses on helping people earn industry-recognized credentials. Credentials highlight skills and make you highly attractive to employers. Our certifications cover a range of industries, including skilled trades, culinary arts, customer service, forklift operation, OSHA standards and more. These credentials will prepare you for success in your chosen career, giving you the qualifications to excel and advance in your field.

Personalized Support working in the Broader Community

If you’re working with a community agency, we take referrals to help you find and maintain long-term employment in the broader community. Our job placement services, and career counseling are designed to meet your unique needs. We also support you for 90 days after you start your new job to ensure your success.

Peckham’s career counseling helps you discover your strengths, interests and career goals. Together, we’ll create a step-by-step plan to find the right job for you. Whether you need help perfecting your resume, preparing for interviews, or exploring different career paths, we’ve got you covered.

Peckham’s job placement services connect you with community opportunities that match your skills and goals. We work with local employers to find the best fit, ensuring you’re set up for long-term success. From the initial job search to landing the position, we’ll be there to guide and support you.

Support working in the Peckham Community

When you work at Peckham, every employee receives one-on-one support from a Vocational Services Specialist (VSS). Your VSS helps with job-related challenges, provides counseling and coaching and offers training. VSS assist with technology, address barriers and connect you to helpful resources within Peckham and the larger community. Additionally, they support your personal goals, such as financial management and health, and handle HR matters like family leave and workplace accommodations. With a VSS, you’ll have the support you need to succeed both on the job and in your personal life.

Reducing barriers through community partnership

We support individuals achieving their goals by leveraging community resources and reducing employment barriers.

Through community collaboration we partner with local businesses, schools, nonprofits and government agencies to build a network of opportunities and resources for you. We also collaborate with your job support team to tackle common obstacles to employment, such as transportation, childcare and access to training.
